I purchased this for my 13-yr old daughter who really wanted some other more childish ice-cream product she had seen on tv probably. This was simple to use, she and her 8-yr old brother loved this first batch she made. I'm sure it will get plenty of use.

I make my own ice cream with the KitchenAid Stand Mixer attachment, but I have never been able to store my batches properly. I tried to buy ice cream carton/containers but most are just tupperware which can create ice crystals or limited use cardboard boxes. I bought this unit on sale for .99 w/Free Shipping for the purpose of using the three individual containers for storage. I can make the lot in my stand mixer then transfer to the pint size containers for mix-ins and storage. The pre-chilled containers have lids that fit so the ice cream hardens throughout faster than in a tupperware container.
